On Friday November 13th, Virginia Governor Northam announced new, tighter coronavirus mandates. These regulations just took effect yesterday, November 15th.

If you’re like us…you’re wondering how all this will impact your favorite hobby: wine tasting in Virginia Wine Country. Luckily, not too much has changed from the current, phase III status. Here are the new restrictions for wineries, breweries, and cideries:

  • Party sizes are reduced to 25
  • Mask are mandated for everyone, including children as young as 5, both indoor and outdoor when not eating or drinking.
  • Seating at the bar is prohibited
  • Alcohol sale, possession, an/or consumption at a winery, brewery, and/or cidery is prohibited after 10 pm.

Despite the challenges this year has brought us, the Virginia Wineries we love continue to offer curb-side pick-up options and online ordering. They remain steadfast in their commitment to providing safe, clean tasting rooms at which we can be together and enjoy the simple pleasures of friendship, community, and wine.  Cheers to that!
